TK/Kindergarten Registration
EDCC TK/Kindergarten Lottery 2024-2025 School Year.
Thank you for your interest in the Extended Day Child Care Program for your TK/Kindergarten student during the upcoming school year. EDCC is a before and after-school program serving students from TK/Kindergarten through 5th grade at all elementary schools in Dublin Unified School District. TK students are able to enroll in the lottery system if the student is 4 years and 9 months old by the first day of our summer camp, which is June 4, 2024. The child must also be potty trained, as we are licensed, and those are the licensing requirements. You will be added to the waitlist if your child is not of age by that date.
We have sites at Amador, Cottonwood, Dougherty, Dublin Elementary, Frederiksen, Green, Kolb, Murray, and one at Walnut Grove Elementary in Pleasanton Unified School District.
EDCC is able to provide before and after school care from Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am – 6:00 pm. We are year-round and offer a fun-filled summer program of outdoor play and sports, arts & crafts, STEAM lessons, shows, water-play days, and more….
EDCC eligibilities for enrollment are as follows:
- Eligible TK/Kindergarten siblings of students currently enrolled get priority.
- DUSD and PUSD permanent district employees get priority in registering since we have a partnership with each district.
- To be considered for enrollment at EDCC, your child must be successfully registered at an elementary school in Dublin Unified School District or at Walnut Grove Elementary in Pleasanton Unified School District for the 2024-2025 school year.
- If you have twins or triplets and one of them gets a spot, then all will receive a spot in our program simultaneously.
- To hold your spot for the school year, your child must be able to start our summer program on June 4th, 2024. If your child cannot start on June 4th, you will be required to pay to hold your spot as spots are limited.
This year, EDCC will use a lottery system that uses a random selection from a number generator system called https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/statistics/random-number-generator.php
Each school site is limited in the number of TK/Kindergarten students they can accept each year. The number of students enrolled is determined by the number of students leaving at the end of the school year and any fifth-grade students that leave.
All TK/Kindergarten students who have applied for our lottery system will be put on an EDCC computer-generated list. The lottery uses a random number generator selection and will be conducted by the EDCC Management Training Center. The lottery will determine which TK/Kindergarten students will be given the first option to enroll in available spaces at their EDCC home school site.
The lottery system will also establish the waitlist at each program site, indicating the order in which the TK/Kindergarten students will be admitted as openings occur. ALL TK students who did not receive a spot in our program will be added to our waitlist. If the TK student is not of age when a spot becomes available, then the TK students will need to enroll for the next year’s kindergarten registration. To remain active on your EDCC school’s waitlist, your child must have continual enrollment at that DUSD or PUSD elementary school. Students not enrolled at the corresponding school site will be removed from the waiting list.
We will close the Lottery Registration on February 29, 2024, so that we can verify enrollment at schools and notify all families that applied in the middle of March of their status. If your form is received after the Lottery closing date, you may contact the EDCC Site Director directly to put your child’s name on the waitlist.
All results of the Lottery will be distributed via email on Friday, March 15, 2024. Kindergarten students accepted to EDCC through the Lottery process must start on June 4th, 2024 for our summer program.
