Kindergarten Registration

EDCC Kindergarten Lottery 2022-2023 School Year.

Thank you for your interest in the Extended Day Child Care Program for your Kindergarten student during the upcoming school year. EDCC is a before and after school program that serves students from Kindergarten through 5th grade at all elementary schools in Dublin Unified School District. We have sites at Amador, Cottonwood, Dougherty, Dublin Elementary, Frederiksen, Green, Kolb, Murray, and one at Walnut Grove Elementary in Pleasanton Unified School District.

EDCC is able to provide before and after school care from Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am – 6:00 pm.  We are year-round and offer a fun-filled summer program of outdoor play and sports, arts & crafts, STEAM lessons, shows, water-play days, and more….

EDCC eligibilities for enrollment are as follows:

  1. Eligible Kindergarten siblings of students that are currently enrolled get priority.
  2. DUSD and PUSD district employees get priority to register since we have a partnership with each district.
  3. My child must be successfully registered at an elementary school in Dublin Unified School District or at Walnut Grove Elementary in Pleasanton Unified School District for the 2022-2023 year in order to be considered for enrollment at EDCC.
  4. My child must be able to start our summer program on June 6th, 2022 in order to hold our spot for the school year.  If my child cannot start on June 6th then I will be required to pay to hold my spot as spots are limited.

This year EDCC will be using a lottery system that uses a random selection from a number generator system called https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/statistics/random-number-generator.php

Each school site is limited in the number of Kindergarten students that they can accept each year.  The number of students enrolled is determined by the number of students leaving at the end of the school year and any fifth-grade students that leave.  This year we have even fewer openings due to COVID.

All Kindergarten students that have applied for our lottery system will be put on an EDCC computer-generated list.  The lottery uses a random number generator selection and will be conducted by the EDCC Management Training Center.  The lottery will determine which Kindergarten students will be given the first option to enroll in available spaces at their EDCC home school site.

The lottery system will also establish the waitlist at each program site, indicating the order in which Kindergarten students will be admitted as openings occur.  To remain active on your EDCC school’s waitlist, your child must have continual enrollment at that DUSD or PUSD elementary school.  Students not enrolled at the corresponding school site will be removed from the waiting list.

Anyone interested in registering their child for a Kindergarten spot at EDCC can submit a completed lottery form online from February 7, 2022 – March 7, 2022.

We will close the Lottery Registration on March 7, 2022, so that we can verify enrollment at schools and notify all families that applied early in April of their status.  If your form is received after the Lottery closing date, you may contact the EDCC Site Director directly to put your child’s name on the waitlist.

All results of the Lottery will be distributed via email on Friday, April 15, 2022. Kindergarten students accepted to EDCC through the Lottery process must start on June 6th, 2022 for our summer program.
